The Dallas Cowboys have lost 3 in a row, but they’re going to the Super Bowl. Tony Romo called it. And Tom Brady just heard it.
After the Patriots housed Dallas, Romo shook hands with Brady on the field and told him “See you in February.”
Why – did you get an invite to Brady’s lake house? Or did Brady tell Romo that he and his family could sit in his suite for the Super Bowl? Maybe he means he’ll see him at the Pro Bowl. Only Brady almost never plays in that, and that dog goes down in January this year.
So I’m totally confused by this. He couldn’t possibly mean that the Cowboys will actually be playing New England in the Super Bowl game….could he? That’s a good one, T! If Matt Cassel turns into Roger Staubach between now and Sunday, maybe you have a shot.
But unfortunately Brandon Weeden has helped turned the Dallas Cowboys into the Detroit Lions.
Weeden says he’s quote “pissed” about getting benched. And his teammates are probably pissed it took this long.
I like that Romo still believes in this team. And really, if he and Dez hadn’t gotten hurt… I might actually agree with him.
But right now the doctors don’t agree. Because the earliest Romo may come back is Week 11.
And the schedule doesn’t agree either. Their home stretch lines up the Panthers, the Packers, the Jets and the Bills. Two teams with perfect records, 4 teams with better records than Big D.
But it would be worse, T. This isn’t even close to your worst post-game handshake moment.
That came when RG3 beat you in the playoffs and consoled you on the field, after he’d been in the league for about 4 months. And it’s not like this is the first time you’ve taken Internet fire for getting caught on a live mic.
You could have told Tom Brady – See you in February, called your shot and predicted a final score… And it wouldn’t have been as bad as that 7th inning stretch. But unless that clavicle magically heals and you’re back on the field, just like everyone else, you’re seeing Brady in February in 1080p.
