As usual, Tony Romo seems like a really good guy. But he probably shouldn’t be tweeting about athletes taking fans for a ride. That ball is just tee’d way too high.
Yesterday Romo hit Twitter to tip the cap to Jordan Spieth, and simultaneously opened the door for all his haters. “I wonder if @jordanspieth understands the emotional roller coaster he’s given us this year. It was amazing. Thank you for making it fun bro”
I’m pretty sure Spieth does understand it, bro. But now I’m positive you don’t understand the one you’ve given Cowboy fans for 9 years. You should click over to your mentions for a second and learn about it.
Because you just handed Twitter a big bertha driver to swing out of their shoes and take a whack at you.
A few examples, quote “similar to you when you throw season ending interceptions….just like the interception or sack you take in the playoffs LOL…. Umm, that’s what it’s like being a cowboys fan every single year..”
And so on and so forth, you get the point T.
Here’s the thing… Most tweeters aren’t very creative. They wait around refreshing their feed ready for a joke that’s REALLY easy. That tweet was like the late throw over the middle across your body. A gimme. They couldn’t’ wait to reply.
If Spieth’s taken us on a roller coaster ride… Then you’ve taken everybody in a barrel ride over Niagra.
I don’t know if you’ve ever actually been on a roller coaster, T. But watching Spieth doesn’t really feel like riding one. There are no massive drops, the thing doesn’t come close to de-railing. It’s not Six Flags. It’s smooth sailing.
You want a roller coaster? I give you… The Romo Coaster. Now that’s amazing. Sure, half the folks riding that thing ralphed all over themselves. But hey, thanks for making it fun bro.
